While we commonly think of Spanish woodwork as highly ornate and curvaceous by the late 18th century many pieces were more reserved and well proportioned as was the style throughout Europe.
Commonly called frazadas, these woven blankets are strongly associated with different tribal groups and show both patterns and dyes native to their region.
17th century Spanish ironwork was lighter and more delicate than its revival style counterparts. By the late 18th century brass had replaced much of what had been made in iron.
Know known for it’s riot-of-color glazes, for centuries talavera poblana was know for it’s sophisticated blue on white tin glazed pottery. At our request, one of the finest talavera poblana producers created these reproduction pieces.
